Erdoğan offers mediation in Israel-Iran conflict during call with Pezeshkian

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday, discussing the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, as well as broader regional and international developments.
According to a statement from the Turkish presidency, Erdoğan expressed Türkiye’s concern over the ongoing hostilities and emphasized Ankara’s readiness to play a mediating role to help bring the clashes to a swift end.
He noted that he has been in contact with various world leaders to facilitate de-escalation and encourage a return to nuclear negotiations.
Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s strong commitment to regional peace and stability, underscoring the importance of diplomatic solutions in addressing regional crises.
The call reflects Türkiye’s growing engagement in efforts to ease tensions in the Middle East and its positioning as a potential mediator in one of the most dangerous confrontations the region has witnessed in recent years. (ILKHA)
