India assures healthcare support to Afghanistan
Afghanistan’s Public Health Minister, Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, held an official meeting with India’s Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Kurti Vardan Singh, in India to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
According to officials, the talks focused on capacity building, ensuring the long-term supply of essential medicines, and strengthening broader development cooperation aimed at improving public health outcomes in Afghanistan.
During the meeting, Minister Jalali highlighted the importance of sharing experiences and expertise across multiple sectors, particularly in environmental protection and public health, to help prevent the spread of diseases and maintain a clean and healthy environment.
In response, Minister Singh reiterated India’s support for Afghanistan and affirmed New Delhi’s continued commitment to assisting the Afghan people. He stressed that India remains ready to contribute to strengthening health security and supporting sustainable development initiatives in Afghanistan.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by both sides to maintain cooperation in humanitarian and development fields, with a particular emphasis on improving healthcare services and building long-term resilience within Afghanistan’s health system. (ILKHA)
