Gaza's martyr count rises to 59,219 as Israeli aggression intensifies

The Gaza Strip continues to reel under relentless Israeli bombardment, as the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that hospitals across the besieged enclave received the bodies of 113 new martyrs and treated 534 wounded civilians in the past 24 hours alone.
According to the Ministry’s Wednesday morning statement, these latest casualties are part of an ongoing wave of deadly aggression launched by the Israeli occupation army, which resumed its genocidal campaign on March 18, 2025. Since then, 8,363 Palestinians have been martyred and 31,004 others wounded, bringing further devastation to Gaza’s already collapsing healthcare infrastructure.
The cumulative toll from the Israeli war of extermination on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has now reached 59,219 martyrs and 143,045 wounded, marking one of the deadliest episodes in recent Palestinian history. Among the martyrs are 1,060 aid seekers, brutally targeted and killed at or near U.S.-backed aid distribution points, the Ministry revealed. In addition, 7,207 wounded are also registered as aid seekers.
Palestinian civil defense teams and volunteers are still working tirelessly to retrieve the bodies of dozens believed to be buried under rubble or lying in inaccessible areas due to ongoing bombardments, particularly in northern and central Gaza.
This surge in casualties underscores the deepening humanitarian catastrophe and the systematic targeting of civilians under siege. Hospitals, already overwhelmed by shortages of fuel, medicine, and equipment, continue to operate under unimaginable conditions, often without electricity and under direct threat of attack.
Despite repeated international appeals for a ceasefire and the safe delivery of humanitarian aid, the Israeli occupation’s military aggression shows no signs of abating. Palestinian health authorities warn that the actual number of casualties may be much higher, as many remain unaccounted for amid the devastation.
Meanwhile, human rights organizations and global observers continue to denounce the assault as a crime against humanity, urging the international community to take immediate and decisive action to halt the genocide and lift the suffocating blockade on Gaza. (ILKHA)
