The death toll in Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 73,789, while the number of injured has reached 174,798, Palestinian medical sources reported on Tuesday.

The latest figures include three people killed and 27 others wounded whose bodies and casualties were brought to hospitals across the besieged enclave over the past 24 hours.

Medical sources said 1,375 Palestinians have been killed and 4,686 wounded since the ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 11, while rescue teams have recovered the bodies of 831 people during the same period.

The sources warned that the actual toll could be considerably higher, as victims remain trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings and in the streets in areas that emergency crews have been unable to reach.

Ambulance and civil defense teams continue to face severe difficulties accessing affected areas, leaving many casualties unaccounted for amid the widespread destruction across Gaza.

The Israeli military launched its offensive on the Gaza Strip following the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. The assault has devastated large parts of the enclave and caused a massive humanitarian crisis. (ILKHA)
