Gaza death toll climbs to 60,839 as Israeli attacks intensify

The death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to at least 60,839 people — the majority women and children — since the start of Israeli military operations on October 7, 2023, according to medical sources on Sunday.
Health officials reported that 149,588 people have been injured during the same period, with thousands more feared trapped under rubble or lying in streets inaccessible to ambulances and civil defense teams due to ongoing attacks.
In the past 24 hours alone, at least 119 people were killed — 15 of whose bodies were recovered — and 866 others were wounded.
Since March 18, when Israeli forces violated the ceasefire agreement, the number of fatalities has reached 9,350, with 37,547 people wounded.
Medical authorities also confirmed that the toll among Palestinians seeking aid continues to rise. Over the past 24 hours, 65 people were killed and 511 injured while trying to collect humanitarian assistance. This brings the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 1,487, with 10,578 injured.
Officials warned that the figures are expected to increase as many victims remain trapped under debris, with rescue teams unable to access affected areas due to the intensity of Israeli strikes. (ILKHA)
