Death toll in Gaza Strip reaches 69,785, over 170,965 wounded
Medical authorities in the Gaza Strip reported on Wednesday that the number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of the Israeli onslaught in October 2023 has risen to 69,785, the overwhelming majority of them children and women.
The number of wounded has now surged to 170,965, with countless others still trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed homes and civilian structures. Rescue and ambulance crews continue to struggle to reach the injured due to the dangerous conditions, ongoing bombardment, and widespread devastation across the Strip.
In the last 24 hours alone, Gaza’s hospitals received 10 additional bodies, including two recently confirmed fatalities and eight whose remains were pulled from demolished areas. Another 16 Palestinians were admitted with severe injuries.
Despite the ceasefire agreement announced on 11 October 2025, Israeli violations have persisted. Since the declaration, 347 Palestinians have been killed, more than 889 wounded, and 588 bodies have been recovered from beneath the ruins.
Local officials and humanitarian workers warn that these figures represent only a fraction of the true toll, as many neighborhoods remain inaccessible. They stress that the continued siege, obstruction of rescue operations, and deliberate targeting of densely populated civilian zones serve to deepen the humanitarian catastrophe inflicted on Gaza’s 2.3 million people.
