Türkiye and Libya have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation in employment and labor affairs, Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan said.

Işıkhan said the agreement with Libya’s Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida would expand cooperation between the two countries and increase the exchange of knowledge and experience.

Under the memorandum, the two countries will establish a Joint Working Commission to develop action plans, objectives and a roadmap for cooperation, Işıkhan said.

The mechanism is also intended to further strengthen institutional ties between Türkiye and Libya.

The two sides will share policies and expertise in several areas, including vocational training, employment, occupational health and safety, and social security.

Işıkhan said the agreement represented an important step toward strengthening cooperation and sharing knowledge and experience in these fields.

Türkiye and Libya had previously discussed establishing a framework and joint mechanism to further develop bilateral relations in labor and social security affairs.(ILKHA)
