Turkish presidency has strongly condemned recent raids and provocations targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning that such actions threaten the historic and legal status of the Islamic holy site and further destabilize the region.

Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran made the remarks in a post on his NSosyal account, condemning raids carried out by Israeli extremist groups under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

“Every provocation against Al-Aqsa Mosque is an unacceptable attack targeting the historical and legal status of Al-Quds. I condemn in the strongest terms these raids carried out under the protection of the Israeli occupying forces,” Duran said.

He warned that the actions were increasing tensions in Jerusalem, undermining the sanctity of holy sites and making efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability more difficult.

Duran stressed the religious and historical significance of Jerusalem to Muslims, Christians and Jews, while highlighting Al-Aqsa Mosque’s importance to Muslims worldwide.

“Al-Quds is the shared land of all Abrahamic religions; Al-Aqsa Mosque is the common sanctuary of Muslims and the shared heritage of all humanity,” he said.

Referring to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s position, Duran said: “Al-Aqsa Mosque, our first qibla, is our red line.”

He described defending the status of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque as a responsibility extending to future generations and reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for Palestinians.

“With this awareness, we will always uphold the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and continue to stand by all our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” Duran said. (ILKHA)
