Türkiye has strongly condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremist groups under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, warning that such actions further inflame tensions and threaten efforts toward peace and stability in the region.

“We condemn in the strongest terms the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremist groups under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces,” the ministry said İn a statement issued on Sunday.

The ministry accused the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of escalating regional tensions through what it described as violations and provocations targeting Muslim holy sites.

“The Netanyahu government seeks to further escalate tensions in the region and undermine efforts for peace and stability through its violations and provocations targeting Muslim holy sites,” it said.

Türkiye reiterated its call for the international community to take what it described as deterrent measures against Israel’s actions, arguing that such practices violate the established historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The ministry stressed that the protection of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s historical and legal status is essential to preventing further escalation and preserving stability in the region.

The statement comes amid continued international concern over developments surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque and growing calls for the protection of Palestinian rights and Muslim access to the holy site. (ILKHA)
