Thousands march in Istanbul in solidarity with Gaza as Palestinian resistance enters 14th month

While the people of Gaza and Hamas continue their 14-month resistance against the Israeli occupation army, solidarity demonstrations in support of Gaza are ongoing in Türkiye.
On a call by the Gaza Solidarity Platform, Muslims convened at the Imam Azam Mosque in Istanbul for afternoon prayers before marching to Ümraniye Square in support of Gaza.
The event began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Muhammed Duran, setting a reflective tone. Usame Özdemir, speaking on behalf of the Gaza Solidarity Platform, stressed the unity of the global Muslim community. He highlighted how historical struggles have united Muslims and resonated across continents. "The protests are not empty gestures," Özdemir asserted. "Allah will grant either victory or martyrdom to those who join these actions, sacrificing their comforts for their brothers in Gaza and disciplining themselves for the future liberation of Al-Aqsa."
Özdemir also critiqued the materialism and purposelessness prevalent in parts of the world, emphasizing that Islam offers the only path to peace and spiritual fulfillment for humanity.
Ali Duran drew parallels between the current struggle in Gaza and the historical Battle of the Trench, where a small Muslim force faced overwhelming odds. He expressed confidence that Gaza's resistance would spark a broader awakening among Muslims. Quoting Quranic verses, Duran framed the conflict as a battle between faith and disbelief, urging believers to remain steadfast in their support for Gaza.
The march concluded with a heartfelt prayer led by Osama Çiçek, as attendees reaffirmed their commitment to solidarity and support for the people of Gaza.
This demonstration was one of many held globally, underscoring the international resonance of the ongoing conflict and the unity among Muslims in advocating for justice and peace. (ILKHA)
