HÜDA PAR: US policies threaten to deepen instability in the Middle East
HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman and Gaziantep MP Şahzade Demir leveled sharp criticisms at US foreign policy in the Middle East and the ongoing ceasefire processes in Gaza.
During a press conference held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Demir warned that recent diplomatic maneuvers and military alignments risk plunging the region into a "new and violent spiral of instability."
Touching upon foreign policy developments following the NATO Summit in Ankara, Demir argued that US President Donald Trump’s statements regarding Syria and Lebanon signal a dangerous new phase of Western intervention.
“The United States is actively trying to pit the Syrian administration in Damascus against Hezbollah in Lebanon to serve the field objectives of the Israeli regime,” Demir warned.
"Trump openly declared that he wants to use the Syrian army as an active element in the project to disarm Hezbollah in Lebanon," Demir told reporters. "This approach towards the Syrian administration... is clearly an open pressure and political blackmail."
The HÜDA PAR official emphasized that Syria, which is still recovering from a devastating, decade-long civil war, requires strong regional and global solidarity to resist such pressure. He urged regional actors to adopt a "policy of maximum caution" against Washington's maneuvers, claiming the US's ultimate goal is to normalize occupation, weaken local resistance dynamics, and turn neighboring populations against one another.
Turning his attention to the Palestinian territories, the Gaziantep MP launched a blistering critique of the diplomatic processes surrounding Gaza, specifically referencing the ceasefire framework announced on October 10, 2025.
Demir declared that the diplomatic efforts have reached a complete deadlock due to Israel’s refusal to honor its agreements.
He accused Israel of failing to implement its commitments under the initial phase of the ceasefire, particularly regarding humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip.
"The Zionist regime has not even fulfilled its commitments in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement it signed; it continues to block the entry of humanitarian aid into the region and to shed blood with attacks it carries out every day," Demir said.
He further underlined that international efforts to deploy a 20,000-member peacekeeping force had fallen far short of expectations, saying only a small number of personnel had ultimately participated.
Demir also criticized proposed humanitarian aid zones in Gaza, arguing that they risk concentrating Palestinians into limited areas rather than providing meaningful humanitarian relief.
Highlighting the humanitarian conditions in Gaza, Demir said residents have endured years of conflict without adequate access to basic necessities and cannot afford further delays in reconstruction.
He urged countries in the Islamic world to move beyond diplomatic discussions and provide practical support for rebuilding the territory.
Demir also called for the establishment of what he described as effective and deterrent military mechanisms to ensure regional security and prevent further Israeli military operations.
The HÜDA PAR official concluded by emphasizing that stronger regional cooperation would be necessary to address ongoing conflicts and humanitarian crises across the Middle East. (ILKHA)
