HÜDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu delivered a message on social media on the 10th anniversary of the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, describing the events as an “imperialist occupation plan” orchestrated by the United States.
In his statement, Yapıcıoğlu said the failed coup was not merely an internal military attempt but a larger foreign-backed plot.
“The event that was repelled thanks to Allah’s help and the sacrifice of our heroic nation resisting bravely was not just a coup attempt, but at its core an imperialist occupation plan,” he stated.
He offered prayers for the martyrs and veterans, saying: “On the anniversary of this sinister coup attempt, I pray to Allah for mercy on our martyrs and our gazis who have passed to the hereafter, and for health and well-being to our living gazis.”
Sharp Criticism of the United States
Yapıcıoğlu was particularly outspoken about America’s role in Türkiye’s history of military interventions.
“From the past to the present, including the July 15 attempt, the USA has been either the instigator, supporter, or the direct planner of all military coups in the country. This truth must never be forgotten,” he declared.
He added: “If you have a friend like the USA, you don’t need an enemy. Because you will never be free from trouble. The USA has no friend other than Israel. It does not hesitate to sacrifice its allies (!) in a single stroke for its own interests or those of its only friend.”
“I Curse the Coup Plotters and Global Imperialism”
The HÜDA PAR chairman strongly condemned those responsible for the coup attempt, saying:
“I curse the coup plotters who turned the weapons that should have been used to protect the nation and defend the homeland against their own people, along with the global imperialism behind them and all their servants.”
He also offered a diagnosis for Türkiye’s current challenges, arguing that the solution lies in a strong return to the nation’s civilizational values and faith-based identity.
“The solution to the social problems we experience today lies in reclaiming our own civilizational values and the authentic identity shaped by our faith with great strength, and striving for this identity to flourish in every area of life,” Yapıcıoğlu emphasized.
He concluded by sending “infinite mercy” to the martyrs who resisted what he called imperialist occupation. (ILKHA)
