President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs to discuss bilateral relations, NATO cooperation, and regional and global developments, while reaffirming Türkiye's commitment to the security of the Baltic region.
During the call, Erdoğan expressed his satisfaction at hosting Rinkēvičs in Türkiye during the NATO Summit in Ankara and said he hoped the decisions adopted at the summit would contribute positively to the Alliance and regional security.
Emphasizing the strong spirit of solidarity demonstrated by NATO allies during the summit, Erdoğan reiterated that Türkiye attaches great importance to the security of the Baltic region within the framework of the Alliance and has expanded its contributions in this area.
The Turkish president also underlined his desire to further strengthen cooperation between Türkiye and Latvia across various sectors, particularly in the defense industry.(ILKHA)
