The Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, announced that the forest fire in the Gelibolu district of Çanakkale has been successfully brought under control.
In his post on the social media platform Next, Minister Yumaklı expressed gratitude to the firefighting teams, whom he referred to as "forest heroes," for their tireless and selfless efforts in extinguishing the blaze.
He emphasized the critical importance of protecting Türkiye’s forests, stating, “There is no difference between protecting our forests and protecting our homeland.” Yumaklı also called on citizens to exercise the utmost care in safeguarding the nation’s “Green Homeland.”
The successful containment of the fire marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to protect Türkiye’s natural landscapes. Authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant to prevent future incidents. (ILKHA)
