4.5-Magnitude earthquake strikes Mediterranean near Muğla, Türkiye

A 4.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the coast of Muğla’s Ortaca district in Türkiye, shaking nearby areas early this morning.
According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the earthquake struck the Mediterranean, approximately 20.1 kilometers from Ortaca, at a depth of 34.46 kilometers. Residents in surrounding districts also reported feeling the tremor.
No casualties or property damage have been officially reported so far. Authorities have warned the public about potential aftershocks and are conducting assessments to determine any possible impacts.
Local residents described brief shaking during the early morning hours, causing minor panic in some buildings, although no serious damage has been observed.
