4.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Gemlik district in Bursa, Türkiye

A moderate earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck the Gemlik district of Bursa province in northwestern Türkiye on Friday, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
While no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage emerged, the tremor caused concern among residents.
AFAD reported that the earthquake struck at 15:14 local time (TSI) at a depth of 10.86 kilometers. The epicenter was pinpointed at 40.41806 degrees north latitude and 29.16083 degrees east longitude.
Türkiye is situated in a seismically active zone and experiences frequent earthquakes. The country has implemented strict building codes and safety measures to minimize the impact of such tremors.
