Türkiye’s producer prices surge 24.45% in June

Türkiye’s Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) jumped 24.45% year-on-year in June 2025, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) reported on Thursday, signaling persistent cost pressures across key industries.
The index also rose 2.46% month-on-month and 15.71% since December 2024, with a twelve-month moving average increase of 28.34%.
The water supply sector led annual increases with a dramatic 61.04% surge, followed by electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply at 28.25%. Mining and stone quarrying rose 25.66%, while manufacturing saw a 23.79% increase. On a monthly basis, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply spiked by 9.94%, water supply by 6.50%, manufacturing by 1.84%, and mining by 0.71%.
All main industrial groups reported annual price increases. Durable consumer goods rose the most at 29.92%, followed by capital goods at 27.40%, non-durable consumer goods at 26.45%, energy at 24.15%, and intermediate goods at 21.77%. Monthly data showed energy prices climbing 8.42%, capital goods 2.26%, durable consumer goods 2.12%, intermediate goods 1.77%, and non-durable consumer goods 1.12%.
The sharp rises, particularly in energy and utility-related sectors, highlight ongoing inflationary pressures on Türkiye’s producers, potentially impacting consumer prices in the months ahead. (ILKHA)
