Türkiye’s economic confidence index dips slightly in July

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced on Wednesday that Türkiye's Economic Confidence Index fell marginally by 0.4% in July, dropping from 96.7 in June to 96.3.
According to the institute, the decline reflects mixed performances across various sectors. The Consumer Confidence Index saw a notable decrease of 1.8%, settling at 83.5. The Services Confidence Index also declined by 0.8%, reaching 110.0, while the Retail Trade Confidence Index edged down by 0.5% to 107.9.
On the other hand, some sectors showed resilience. The Real Sector (Manufacturing Industry) Confidence Index rose by 0.5% to 98.9, and the Construction Confidence Index increased by a more robust 2.2%, reaching 88.8 in July compared to the previous month.
The Economic Confidence Index, a composite indicator reflecting overall sentiment in the Turkish economy, highlights a cautious outlook among consumers and service providers, tempered by modest gains in manufacturing and construction. (ILKHA)
