Afghan business delegation arrives in Iran to explore construction sector cooperation
A 30-member Afghan business delegation led by Kamaluddin Tuheed, president of the Afghanistan-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce, has arrived in Iran to participate in the Tehran International Construction Industry Exhibition.
The visit is aimed at exploring opportunities and investment potential in Iran’s construction sector while strengthening economic ties and private-sector cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran.
During the visit, Afghan business representatives are expected to examine the latest developments, products and investment opportunities presented at the construction industry exhibition and identify areas where companies from the two neighboring countries can cooperate.
The delegation’s participation is also expected to provide a platform for Afghan and Iranian businesses to establish new commercial contacts and explore opportunities for expanding bilateral trade.
In addition to attending the exhibition, members of the Afghan delegation are scheduled to meet with Iranian entrepreneurs, investors and economic stakeholders.
The meetings are expected to focus on potential joint ventures, investment opportunities, construction projects and mechanisms for facilitating greater private-sector engagement between the two countries.
Officials and business representatives are also expected to discuss ways to strengthen economic connectivity and create new channels for trade and investment.
The visit comes as Afghanistan and Iran continue efforts to expand economic cooperation and increase the role of the private sector in bilateral relations.
The construction industry represents a potentially significant area of cooperation, particularly through investment, infrastructure development, construction materials, engineering services and related industries.
The Afghan delegation's participation in the Tehran exhibition is therefore seen as an opportunity to deepen business-to-business ties and lay the groundwork for expanded trade, joint investment and long-term commercial partnerships between Afghan and Iranian companies.
The delegation is expected to continue its meetings with Iranian business representatives during its stay in Tehran, with discussions focusing on practical opportunities for mutually beneficial economic cooperation. (ILKHA)
