UNRWA reports 300% surge in child malnutrition cases in northern Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported a significant increase in malnutrition cases among children in northern Gaza, with rates rising by over 300% in July compared to May.
Citing data from the Global Nutrition Cluster and the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the UN agency highlighted that 96% of Gaza’s population is currently experiencing crisis levels of hunger, exacerbated by the ongoing blockade imposed by Israel.
In response to the worsening humanitarian situation, UNRWA has called on the international community to increase aid to the blockaded enclave.
The agency also urged for an immediate ceasefire to help alleviate the severe conditions faced by Gaza's residents, particularly the most vulnerable children. (ILKHA)
