Three people were killed after a small aircraft crashed in Germany's western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, authorities said.
The aircraft crashed into a field near Erkelenz in Heinsberg district, police said.
According to authorities, the plane was a Cessna-type aircraft and all three people on board lost their lives in the crash.
Investigation underway
Police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene following the accident.
The aircraft was completely destroyed, with wreckage scattered near the edge of the field.
Authorities said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
