Israeli forces detain at least 20 Palestinians in overnight West Bank raids
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out a series of overnight and early morning military raids across several areas of the occupied West Bank, detaining at least 20 Palestinian citizens after storming homes and conducting extensive searches, according to local sources.
The raids targeted multiple towns and villages, adding to the ongoing wave of Israeli military incursions that have become a near-daily occurrence across the occupied Palestinian territory.
According to local reports, Israeli soldiers stormed the villages of al-Mughayyir and Deir Abu Da'if, where they raided numerous homes and detained at least 10 Palestinians after searching residential properties and subjecting families to hours of military operations.
In the northern West Bank city of Qalqilya, Israeli forces conducted widespread raids in both the city and the nearby village of Jit, where they reportedly ransacked homes before detaining nine Palestinian residents.
Meanwhile, in Nablus, Israeli troops carried out another raid that resulted in the detention of one Palestinian resident.
The Israeli military also launched incursions into several other areas of the occupied West Bank during the night and early Tuesday, although no additional arrests were reported in those locations.
Palestinian residents have repeatedly condemned the raids, saying they spread fear among families, particularly women and children, while causing damage to homes during searches.
The latest arrests come amid continued Israeli military operations throughout the occupied West Bank, where rights groups have documented a sharp increase in home raids, arbitrary detentions, and military incursions since the escalation of the conflict.
Palestinian officials and human rights organizations have accused Israel of using mass arrests as a tool of collective punishment, arguing that the frequent raids disrupt civilian life and further inflame tensions across the occupied territory.
The ongoing military operations continue to draw international concern over the deteriorating humanitarian and security situation in the occupied West Bank, where Palestinians face persistent military incursions, restrictions on movement, and an expanding campaign of arrests. (ILKHA)
