Islamic Emirate and India agree to establish joint trade committee to strengthen economic ties

Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlavi Ahmadullah Zahid, met with India’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Jitin Prasad, in New Delhi to discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
According to a statement issued by the ministry on Tuesday, the discussions focused on expanding trade relations, facilitating business opportunities, and addressing challenges faced by traders from both countries.
As a result of the talks, both sides agreed to form a joint trade committee, which will meet regularly to address key trade issues and explore new areas of economic partnership. The initiative aims to revitalize historic commercial ties and promote greater regional connectivity between Afghanistan and India.
Officials noted that the establishment of the committee marks a significant step toward fostering mutually beneficial economic collaboration, while providing a structured platform to resolve trade challenges and boost investment opportunities.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by both countries to strengthen bilateral economic engagement and create a more conducive environment for commerce, particularly in sectors of mutual interest such as agriculture, industry, and services. (ILKHA)
