Iran reports no casualties in Israeli airstrike on Natanz nuclear facility

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) confirmed that an Israeli airstrike targeted the Shahid Ahmadi Roshan enrichment complex, also known as the Natanz facility, causing damage to parts of the site.
In a statement released on Friday, the AEOI said investigations are ongoing to assess the extent of the damage, but no casualties have been reported among personnel at the facility.
The AEOI also stated that no radiation or chemical substances leaked from the site as a result of the attack. The organization condemned the Israeli strike as a violation of international law, including resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors, and the General Conference.
The AEOI sharply criticized the IAEA, accusing its Director General of failing to condemn Israeli threats against Iranian nuclear sites over the past two years. The statement described the IAEA’s silence as tacit cooperation with Israel, claiming the agency has produced biased reports based on false information provided by the Israeli government. The AEOI further argued that the IAEA has lost credibility as an impartial international organization due to its handling of the situation.
“This attack is a setback for the IAEA, exposing the Director General’s failure to ensure the security of peaceful nuclear facilities under the agency’s supervision,” the AEOI stated. It accused the IAEA of succumbing to political and military pressures, undermining its professional integrity.
Despite the attack, the AEOI emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program remains resilient. “Political and military pressures will not deter the determination of our scientists, specialists, and employees,” the statement declared, adding that Iran’s nuclear industry will continue to pursue its goals with renewed resolve.
The Israeli airstrike follows ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, with Iran’s nuclear program remaining a focal point of international concern. Neither Israel nor the IAEA has issued an immediate response to the AEOI’s statement. (ILKHA)
