HÜDA PAR MP injured during Egyptian crackdown on Global Gaza March

HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party) Member of Parliament, Faruk Dinç, was injured during a crackdown by Egyptian security forces on pro-Gaza demonstrators participating in the Global Gaza March.
Dinç, who had traveled to Egypt to join the international solidarity movement advocating for the opening of the Rafah Border Gate and protesting the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, sustained a head injury after being struck by an object thrown during the intervention by Egyptian forces. His condition is reported to be stable.
The Global Gaza March drew activists from across the world in an effort to draw attention to the devastation in Gaza and call for unrestricted humanitarian access through Rafah, a key crossing point between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. However, participants have faced increasing repression from Egyptian authorities. Reports indicate that many demonstrators have been detained, had their passports confiscated, and in some cases, were confined to hotels or vehicles to prevent them from reaching the border.
In response to the incident, HÜDA PAR headquarters issued a statement confirming Dinç’s injury and condemning the harsh treatment of the activists. “Our Mersin MP Mr. Faruk Dinç, who participated in the Global March of Conscience for the opening of the Rafah Border Gate, was injured in an attack,” the party stated, adding that his health is not in danger but emphasizing that “the serious attacks against activists are alarming.”
The party also urged immediate diplomatic intervention, calling on the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to take action to ensure the safety of Turkish citizens and other international participants.
The incident has heightened concerns over Egypt’s handling of pro-Palestinian demonstrations and the continued blockage of vital aid access to Gaza. Human rights groups have long criticized Egypt for its strict control over the Rafah crossing, which remains one of the few lifelines for the besieged territory. (ILKHA)
