Hamas denounces U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear sites as 'heinous'

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has issued a condemnation of the recent United States airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, describing the attack as a “heinous act of aggression” and a clear violation of international law.
The group accused Washington of acting in full alignment with the Israeli occupation and escalating tensions across the region.
In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas declared, “We strongly condemn the blatant U.S. aggression against the territory and sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” The movement characterized the strikes as part of a broader agenda of “reckless submission to the Zionist project”, warning that the action poses a direct threat to global peace and security.
Hamas condemned the strikes as a flagrant breach of international law, asserting that the attacks were carried out not in defense, but to serve the interests of the occupying Zionist regime, which continues its brutal campaign against the Palestinian people and the wider region.
“This escalation reveals the real motives behind American foreign policy in the region,” the statement added, accusing the U.S. of once again positioning itself as the primary enabler of Israeli aggression.
Hamas also reaffirmed its strategic alliance with the Islamic Republic of Iran, praising Tehran’s steadfast stance in supporting resistance movements across the region.
“We express our full solidarity with the leadership and people of Iran, and we are confident in their ability to defend their sovereignty and confront this blatant aggression,” the statement read.
The group emphasized that such attacks will not deter the forces of resistance but will only deepen the resolve of nations and movements standing against imperialism and occupation.
The U.S. has not officially commented on the specifics of the reported strikes, which targeted key Iranian nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—facilities monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The strikes have triggered a swift and robust response from Tehran, including retaliatory missile strikes on Israeli military targets.
As tensions continue to rise, regional actors and resistance factions are warning of a broader confrontation if the international community fails to rein in what they see as unprovoked U.S. and Israeli aggression.
The situation remains fluid, with widespread calls for Arab and Islamic unity in the face of what Hamas has described as a new phase of imperialist warfare against the sovereignty and dignity of the region’s free nations. (ILKHA)
