Gaza death toll surpasses 52,400 as Israeli genocide continues unchecked

At least 50 more Palestinians were martyred over the past 24 hours as Israel’s brutal assault on the Gaza Strip drags into its seventh month, Gaza’s Health Ministry announced on Wednesday.
The relentless bombardment has now claimed the lives of more than 52,400 Palestinians since the start of Israel’s devastating war on October 7, 2023.
In addition to the mounting death toll, the ministry reported that 109 wounded Palestinians were admitted to overwhelmed hospitals, pushing the total number of injuries to 118,014. Rescue teams warned that many victims remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes and buildings, unreachable due to constant Israeli airstrikes and the collapse of essential services.
The Israeli military intensified its onslaught on March 18, despite a ceasefire agreement reached in January. Since then, over 2,300 more Palestinians have been killed and nearly 6,000 wounded, as Israel defies international calls to halt its aggression. Human rights organizations and global leaders have condemned Israel's actions, describing them as deliberate attacks on civilians and a flagrant violation of international law.
The international legal community has begun to respond. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people. Meanwhile, Israel faces an ongoing genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its brutal military campaign and systemic targeting of Gaza’s civilian population.
As the humanitarian catastrophe worsens, Palestinians continue to plead for urgent international intervention to stop the bloodshed and hold Israel accountable for its crimes. (ILKHA)
