Gaza death toll rises to 58,573 as hospitals receive dozens of new martyrs

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has announced that hospitals across the besieged territory received the bodies of 94 martyrs and treated 252 wounded civilians in the past 24 hours, as Israel continues its relentless bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
The new casualties bring the total number of Palestinians killed since the Israeli occupation forces resumed their genocidal assault on March 18, 2025, to 7,750, with an additional 27,566 injured during that period alone.
According to Wednesday morning’s statement from the Health Ministry, the overall death toll since the war began on October 7, 2023, has now surged to 58,573, with more than 139,607 wounded—many of them women and children.
The ministry also revealed that among the dead are 851 aid seekers who were killed at or near humanitarian aid distribution points, which have been repeatedly targeted by Israeli air and ground strikes. These distribution zones were operated under U.S.-supported logistics networks that have come under increasing scrutiny for failing to protect civilian lives.
Additionally, 5,634 injured Palestinians are aid seekers who were struck while waiting for food or water—many of them in northern Gaza, where famine and displacement have reached catastrophic levels.
Efforts continue across various parts of the Gaza Strip to recover the remains of those still buried under rubble or missing after airstrikes, particularly in areas like Khan Younis, Rafah, and Gaza City. Civil defense teams and volunteers are working under extreme danger and limited resources to reach isolated neighborhoods devastated by Israeli attacks.
With hospitals operating far beyond capacity and medical supplies nearly depleted, health officials warn that many of the wounded face a high risk of death due to the collapse of the health system under Israel's blockade and bombardment.
Despite repeated calls from international humanitarian organizations for a ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access, Israel’s military operations show no sign of abating. Gaza’s health authorities, meanwhile, continue to document the staggering human toll of the war, describing the situation as one of the worst humanitarian crises in modern history. (ILKHA)
