Ceasefire under fire: Hamas says Israel killed 300 vivilians since truce began
The Hamas Movement on Wednesday issued an urgent appeal to the U.S. administration and the mediators of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, calling on them to rein in Israel’s escalating assaults and uphold their responsibilities as guarantors of the truce.
In a sharply worded statement, Hamas condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City and Khan Yunis, which left 26 Palestinians—among them women and children—martyred and dozens more wounded. The Movement stressed that these attacks expose the fragility of the ceasefire and threaten to plunge the region back into a full-scale confrontation.
According to figures released by Hamas, the Israeli occupation army has killed 300 civilians in the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire came into effect. The group listed continuous aerial bombardments, the demolition of civilian homes, and the persistent closure of the Rafah border crossing as deliberate violations designed to tighten the siege on an already devastated population.
Hamas described Israel’s ongoing actions as a “blatant challenge to the American and regional guarantors”, asserting that such impunity undermines every effort aimed at stabilizing the situation and protecting Palestinian civilians.
The Movement emphasized that without decisive intervention, Israel’s breaches will further inflame tensions and could trigger a new wave of resistance in response to what it called the occupation’s systematic aggression. (ILKHA)
