Ankara: Israeli strike on Iran undermines diplomacy, risks global peace

Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s latest airstrike on Iran, calling the attack a “blatant violation of international law” and a dangerous provocation that threatens peace across the Middle East.
In a press release published shortly after the strike, the Foreign Ministry expressed grave concern over the timing and motives behind the Israeli operation, stating: “This attack, which constitutes a blatant violation of international law, is a provocation that serves Israel’s strategic destabilization policy in the region.”
The ministry emphasized that the assault came amid renewed international diplomatic efforts surrounding Iran’s nuclear program. “The timing of the strikes, which occurred during intensified negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program, clearly indicates that the Netanyahu government is unwilling to resolve any issue through diplomatic means,” the statement read. “Israel does not hesitate to risk regional stability and global peace for its own interests.”
Calling for an immediate end to Israeli aggression, the ministry urged the international community to step in and prevent further escalation. “Israel must immediately cease its aggressive actions that could lead to broader conflicts,” the statement continued.
Reaffirming its longstanding position against further bloodshed in the Middle East, Türkiye warned of the grave consequences of unchecked military provocations. “We reiterate that we do not want to see any more bloodshed and destruction in the Middle East. We call on the international community to take urgent action to prevent the spread of war.”
The statement marks one of Türkiye’s strongest official rebukes in the wake of rising tensions between Israel and Iran, amid a wave of condemnations from governments and civil society across the region. The Israeli airstrikes have already resulted in multiple casualties, including high-ranking Iranian officials and civilians, according to Iranian sources. The situation remains tense as regional powers and international institutions weigh their next steps. (ILKHA)
