14 killed, 78 injured in U.S. attacks on Iran, Tehran says
Iran's Health Ministry said 14 people were killed and 78 others injured in U.S. airstrikes targeting five provinces across the country over the past two days.
Hossein Kermanpour, head of the Health Ministry's Public Relations and Information Center, said in a statement posted on social media that the attacks were carried out on July 8 and 9.
Kermanpour said 14 people had been killed and 78 others injured in the strikes.
He added that 47 of the wounded remain hospitalized, while the remaining injured were discharged after receiving the necessary medical treatment.
Iran urges international response
Iranian authorities called on the international community not to remain silent following the U.S. attacks.
They said the strikes had further escalated tensions in the region.
Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had carried out missile and drone operations in response to the U.S. attacks.
The IRGC said U.S. military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain had been targeted and warned that other American bases across the region would also be targeted if further attacks were launched.
The latest exchange of attacks came after U.S. President Donald Trump declared the June memorandum with Iran "over," prompting a renewed escalation between the two countries.
The exchange of attacks between the United States and Iran has heightened concerns that the confrontation could escalate into a broader regional conflict. (ILKHA)
