Türkiye launches anti-dumping investigation into imported vehicle tires

Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade has launched an anti-dumping investigation into rubber tires imported from several countries, citing potential harm to domestic manufacturers.
According to the official notice published in the Official Gazette, the investigation covers “new pneumatic rubber tires” imported from the Czech Republic, South Korea, Hungary, Serbia, and Slovakia for light commercial vehicles; from South Korea and Serbia for heavy-duty vehicles; and from the Czech Republic and India for agricultural machinery.
The decision followed complaints from local producers who claimed that the imported tires were being sold in the Turkish market at unfairly low prices, causing material damage to domestic production.
After an initial review, the Board for the Evaluation of Unfair Competition in Imports, operating under the Ministry of Trade, concluded that sufficient evidence and documentation had been provided to justify the opening of a formal investigation.
If the inquiry confirms dumping practices, Türkiye may impose additional duties or other corrective measures to restore fair competition and protect local industry.
The investigation reflects Türkiye’s broader efforts to counter unfair trade practices and support its growing manufacturing sector amid rising import pressures in strategic industries such as automotive and agriculture.(ILKHA)
