Security forces detain 13 ISIS-linked suspects in Izmir

Turkish authorities detained 13 individuals suspected of ties to the terrorist organization ISIS in a large-scale operation in İzmir.
The suspects, among them 12 Syrian nationals, are accused of financing terrorism, disseminating propaganda, and maintaining communication with conflict zones in Syria and Iraq.
The operation targeted 15 suspects accused of supporting ISIS through social media propaganda and financial aid. İzmir Provincial Security Directorate teams conducted simultaneous raids on multiple addresses, apprehending 13 suspects. Authorities seized 1.36 million Turkish Lira in cash, gold, and digital devices believed to contain key evidence. Efforts to capture the two remaining fugitives are ongoing.
The crackdown underscores Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent the use of its territory for logistical or operational support. Legal proceedings against the detained suspects are in progress. (ILKHA)
