President Erdoğan to attend 20th G20 leaders’ summit in South Africa
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will travel to the Republic of South Africa on 22–23 November 2025 to participate in the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, the Turkish Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, announced on X.
During the Summit, which will be held under the main theme of “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability,” President Erdoğan is scheduled to address various sessions and contribute to discussions on global economic, social, and environmental issues.
In addition to the Summit sessions, President Erdoğan is expected to hold bilateral meetings with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, as well as with other G20 leaders and representatives from international organizations, providing an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.
Duran highlighted that the Summit will serve as a platform for Türkiye to engage with global leaders on pressing international challenges and to advance its vision on sustainable development and multilateral cooperation.
The two-day event in Johannesburg marks a key moment for G20 member states to discuss strategies for economic recovery, climate action, and global solidarity amid ongoing geopolitical and economic uncertainties. (ILKHA)
