Orphans Foundation delivers warmth and dignity with winter clothing aid
As the winter season deepens, the Orphans Foundation has intensified its annual efforts to support orphaned children in need, launching a compassionate dual-phase initiative that provides both essential supplies and personal choice.
The foundation's latest campaign, "One Pair of Boots, One Coat," saw its provincial branch in Van distribute sturdy winter boots and coats directly to orphaned children last week. Building on this, the organization arranged a special visit this week for the children and their families to a local clothing store, allowing the children to personally select their own winter outfits, thanks to the contributions of dedicated donors.
The event transformed a routine shopping trip into an experience of dignity and joy. Children, accompanied by their guardians, browsed the store with the freedom to choose the clothes they liked best.
"This is about more than just clothing; it's about warming hearts and affirming the worth of every child," said Esra Acar, a volunteer with the Orphans Foundation. "Last week, with our 'one coat, one pair of boots' campaign, we met an essential need. Today, by inviting families to the store and letting the children choose for themselves, we aimed to bring them happiness and a sense of normalcy."
Acar emphasized the critical role of community support in sustaining the foundation's vital work. "May Allah be pleased with all the benefactors who supported us in this good deed. We are waiting for all our charitable brothers and sisters so that our aid can continue," she added, issuing a call for further donations to extend the program's reach.
Families present at the event expressed profound gratitude. Many parents and guardians highlighted that the aid came at a critical time, providing not only material relief from the biting cold but also a significant boost to their children's morale and well-being.
The Orphans Foundation continues to be a cornerstone of support for vulnerable families, adapting its aid models to blend immediate necessity with respectful, empowering engagement. Officials confirm that further distributions and supportive events are planned throughout the winter months. (ILKHA)
