Istanbul celebrates Gaza's triumph over Israeli occupation
The streets of Istanbul witnessed a powerful display of solidarity and celebration as hundreds gathered to honor the victory of Hamas and the people of Gaza.
The event, organized by the Gaza Solidarity Platform, served as a rallying point for those who stand in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Under the slogan “We salute the Gaza resistance that subdued the Zionist gang,” hundreds of participants gathered at Fatih Mosque after Isha prayers. Bearing flags of Tawhid and Palestine, they marched to Saraçhane Park, their voices resonating with slogans like “HAMAS is invincible, Gaza is invincible.” Torches illuminated the night as a symbol of victory and resilience.
The march was more than a celebration; it was a declaration of steadfastness against oppression. Participants expressed their unwavering support for Gaza’s resistance, which has become a beacon of hope and defiance for oppressed peoples worldwide. The symbolic gathering reflected a broader rejection of Israeli occupation and a call for justice.
During the programme at Saraçhane Park, the President of Özgür Der, Rıdvan Kaya, delivered a stirring speech. “We see that some of our brothers and sisters are demoralised by the ongoing discussions about the ceasefire,” he acknowledged, but added a message of hope: “No one should be depressed. They will have to accept this agreement. Not because of international pressure alone, but because of their own desperation. We all see this, and we will witness it, Inshallah.”
Kaya condemned the Israeli regime for its continued aggression, even in the face of international ceasefire agreements. “Zionism is dishonesty and dishonour,” he declared, highlighting the massacres carried out despite announcements of a truce. Kaya reminded the audience of the historical pattern of broken promises and atrocities during past ceasefires. “The resistance of HAMAS in Gaza has exposed the weakness and moral bankruptcy of the Zionist occupiers,” he said, adding that their actions reveal a complete disregard for humanity.
The rally underscored a critical truth: the Palestinian resistance in Gaza represents not just a struggle for land but a fight for dignity, justice, and freedom. Despite overwhelming odds, the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their defenders has shaken one of the world’s most militarized regimes, forcing it to confront its own limitations.
The Gaza resistance has inspired movements worldwide, demonstrating that resilience and unity can overcome even the most oppressive forces. The march in Istanbul was a testament to this inspiration, a loud and clear message that the spirit of resistance is alive and unyielding.
As the night ended, the torch-lit streets of Istanbul bore witness to a powerful display of solidarity. The victory of Gaza’s resistance is not just a moment for celebration but a reminder that the fight for justice and freedom will always endure. (ILKHA)
