Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will pay an official visit to Türkiye on Friday, following an invitation extended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Turkish Presidency announced.

The visit will mark the convening of the 7th session of the Turkey-Hungary High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, underscoring the depth of the bilateral relationship, which is formally designated as an "enhanced strategic partnership."

The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, confirmed that Orbán, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation of Hungarian officials, will hold a tête-à-tête meeting with President Erdoğan. The leaders are expected to co-chair the broader council meeting.

In a written statement, Duran indicated that the talks aim to conduct a thorough review of the partnership. "During the visit, in which relations at the level of an enhanced strategic partnership will be evaluated in all their dimensions, a comprehensive exchange of views will also take place on current regional and global issues," he said.

The agenda is set to extend beyond diplomacy, with a focus on strengthening legal and economic ties. Duran added, "the signing of various agreements aimed at strengthening the contractual basis of bilateral relations is envisaged."

The meeting highlights the continued alignment between the two NATO members, who have frequently found common ground on a number of international policies. Observers anticipate discussions will cover a range of topics, including energy security, trade, migration, and the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.
