HÜDA PAR's Dinç calls for moral upliftment during budget debate at parliament

During the budget negotiations at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, HÜDA PAR Deputy Chairman and Mersin MP Faruk Dinç raised concerns about the moral decay affecting the nation's youth.
Dinç began his speech by condemning Israel’s ongoing actions in Gaza, labeling them as genocide and urging the Islamic world to unite against the "Zionist occupation." He warned that inaction would lead to widespread turmoil across the region.
Turning to domestic issues, Dinç highlighted the detrimental effects of globalization on Turkish society. He argued, "Our generations are being corrupted under the name of 'globalization'," and called for governmental action to safeguard traditional family structures and societal values from corrupting influences. He specifically targeted media content, suggesting that programs promoting moral decay should be heavily regulated or banned, to prevent them from "eating away at the soul of society."
Dinç also addressed the rising tide of addiction among the youth, noting a significant increase in gambling and drug use. "The age of drug use is decreasing day by day," he stated, emphasizing that the nation faces a moral crisis more severe than economic woes. He proposed educational reforms to align with societal values and vocational training to tackle unemployment among graduates, alongside advocating for increased support for young couples trying to establish families.
He criticized the current marriage support loan of 150,000 TL, suggesting it be revised to counter inflation, and stressed the importance of protecting both family and youth, the foundational pillars of society. "If we lose the generation, we lose our future," Dinç warned, urging immediate action against gambling, drugs, and moral degeneration to secure both societal and economic health.
Concluding his remarks, Dinç hoped for a budget that would address these deep-seated issues, wishing for a prosperous and morally sound future for Turkey's youth. "If we have a moral, virtuous, faithful, and civilized youth, we have a future," he said, ending his speech with well wishes for the 2025 budget. (ILKHA)
