Global Muslims unite in Diyarbakır to celebrate Prophet’s birth

Thousands of Muslims from Türkiye and across the Islamic world gathered in Diyarbakır on Sunday for a Mawlid al-Nabi celebration organized by the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation.
Themed “Resistance Leader Prophet Muhammad,” the event combined spiritual devotion to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) with a resolute stand against oppression, particularly in Gaza.
The gathering attracted prominent Islamic figures, scholars, and international delegates, including Bayram Ibrahimov from North Macedonia and Muhammed Najashi from Ethiopia, who praised the event’s scale and message.
Ibrahimov, attending for the second time, expressed joy at the celebration’s spiritual depth and its focus on Palestinian suffering. “The love of the Prophet brought us here from Macedonia,” he said. “While we honor the Messenger of Allah, our hearts ache for Palestine. Such events must spread globally to strengthen our unity.” He called for a collective Muslim awakening to confront oppression.
Najashi, a postgraduate student from Ethiopia, described the event as a transformative experience. “This is more than a celebration; it’s a stand against injustice,” he told reporters. Likening the gathering to “a small stone creating big waves,” he emphasized its potential to inspire resistance. Reflecting on Palestinian leaders like Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniyeh, Najashi urged Muslims to support Gaza through prayer and action. “On the Day of Judgment, we must say we stood with them,” he said, thanking the organizers for their efforts.
The event featured prayers, tears, and a unified call for justice, underscoring the Prophet’s legacy as a guide for resisting tyranny. Attendees, both local and international, hailed the gathering as a powerful symbol of Muslim unity and a spiritual rebuke to the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
The Mawlid al-Nabi celebration reaffirmed Diyarbakır’s role as a beacon of faith and resistance, sending a message to the global Muslim Ummah: unity and the prophetic legacy remain vital in the fight against injustice. (ILKHA)
