Erdoğan warns Israel's actions risk regional war in call with Kuwaiti Emir

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, addressing the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, as well as broader regional and global security concerns.
During the call, Erdoğan voiced strong criticism of Israel’s recent military actions against Iran, warning that such provocations threaten to destabilize an already fragile region. He stated that “Israel, by launching attacks against Iran, is jeopardizing the security of our region—one that cannot withstand a new war.”
Erdoğan also emphasized that the policies of the Netanyahu government have become a growing source of instability, not only in the Middle East but on a global scale. He highlighted the detrimental impact of Israel’s actions on the ongoing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, reiterating that diplomatic engagement remains the only viable path to resolving the current tensions.
Both Türkiye and Kuwait, Erdoğan noted, have condemned Israel’s aggression in Gaza and across the region. He asserted that Israel’s recent strikes on Iran appear to be a diversionary tactic aimed at drawing attention away from its ongoing military campaign in Gaza, which Türkiye continues to denounce as genocide.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting diplomatic solutions and preserving regional peace amid mounting international concerns over a broader conflict. (ILKHA)
