Duran: Israel’s genocidal policies threaten regional and global stability
Türkiye’s Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran has strongly condemned Israel’s renewed aggression against the Gaza Strip, saying the attacks once again prove that the Israeli regime has no genuine pursuit of peace but continues its policies of occupation and genocide.
In a statement shared on X, Duran said Israel’s actions have “clearly demonstrated its disregard for peace, justice, and international law.”
“The Israeli parliament’s so-called decision to annex the occupied West Bank, followed by the recent attacks on Gaza, shows that the Israeli administration has no agenda for peace. On the contrary, it intends to continue its occupation and genocide,” he said.
Duran underscored that Israel’s ongoing aggression and expansionist policies represent a serious threat to regional stability and global peace, calling for an immediate and firm international response.
“The international community must exhibit the determination to condemn Israel’s policy of genocide,” he urged. “As Türkiye, under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we will continue to stand with the oppressed, defend the Palestinian cause, and raise the voice of justice and humanity against all forms of oppression.”
The statement reflects Ankara’s continued condemnation of Israel’s military operations in Gaza, which have left thousands of civilians dead and widespread destruction across the besieged enclave.
Duran’s remarks came amid escalating Israeli attacks on Gaza following the Knesset’s controversial decision to annex parts of the occupied West Bank—a move widely denounced as a flagrant violation of international law and a severe blow to any peace prospects.
The annexation, coupled with continued airstrikes on Gaza, has drawn global criticism and further isolated Tel Aviv diplomatically. Duran said these developments “once again expose Israel’s true agenda: the continuation of occupation and systematic oppression of the Palestinian people.”
Reaffirming Türkiye’s principled stance, Duran emphasized that Ankara will continue to advocate for justice, peace, and the rights of the Palestinian people in all international platforms.
“Türkiye remains steadfast in its support for the Palestinian cause,” Duran said. “We will never remain silent in the face of Israel’s violations, nor abandon our commitment to a free and independent Palestine.”
Duran’s remarks reinforce Türkiye’s position as one of the most vocal defenders of Palestinian rights on the global stage, consistently calling for an end to Israeli occupation and for accountability over war crimes committed in Gaza and the West Bank. (ILKHA)
