AFAD sends 20 trucks of humanitarian aid to Gaza following ceasefire deal

Following the recent ceasefire in Gaza, Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has dispatched 20 trucks of humanitarian aid, including food, blankets, and tents, to support civilians in the region.
Türkiye has accelerated its humanitarian assistance to Gaza after the ceasefire reached on October 8, 2025. According to AFAD, 17 trucks of food, 3 trucks of blankets, and Türkiye-provided tents are scheduled to arrive in Gaza on October 13, 2025.
Since October 7, 2023, Türkiye has sent a total of 101,725 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza via 16 ships and 14 aircraft. Additionally, 333 trucks have been delivered to the region since July 27, 2025. Following the October 8 ceasefire, the pace of aid deliveries has increased significantly, with 100 trucks reaching Gaza through the Karem Abu Salem border crossing in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent and Türkiye NGOs, including the Türkiye Red Crescent.
AFAD emphasized that Türkiye continues to support humanitarian efforts in Gaza with the contribution of various institutions, organizations, and NGOs. The aid aims to provide relief to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict, demonstrating Türkiye’s commitment to addressing human suffering and supporting regional stability.
Analysts note that while these humanitarian deliveries are critical, sustained support for Gaza requires continued international cooperation, efficient aid distribution, and long-term development initiatives to ensure the protection and welfare of civilians in the conflict zone. (ILKHA)
