47 migrants rescued by Turkish Coast Guard after being pushed back by Greece

The Turkish Coast Guard rescued 47 irregular migrants, including women and children, who were trying to reach the Greek island of Lesbos illegally on Wednesday.
The migrants were pushed back to Turkish territorial waters by the Greek authorities, who have been accused of violating international law and human rights by preventing asylum seekers from entering the European Union.
The Coast Guard ship “TCSG-84” and the Coast Guard boat “KB-115” responded to the distress call and brought the migrants to safety. They were taken to the Coast Guard Command on Cunda Island, where they received humanitarian aid such as food, drink, medicine and medical supplies.
The migrants were later transferred to the Balıkesir Provincial Migration Administration, where they will be registered and processed according to the Turkish migration laws. (ILKHA)
