Türkiye’s consumer price index (CPI) rose by 39.05% year-on-year in February 2025, marking a decline from 42.12% in January, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced on Monday.
On a monthly basis, inflation increased by 2.27%, TurkStat said.
According to the data, the general CPI index (2003=100) saw an increase of 7.42% compared to December 2024 and rose by 53.83% on a twelve-month moving average basis.
Among the main expenditure groups, clothing and footwear recorded the lowest annual inflation rate at 20.84%, while education saw the highest price surge at 94.90% year-on-year.

The core inflation indicator, which excludes unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold, increased by 39.47% annually and 2.32% monthly in February. On a twelve-month moving average basis, the core inflation rate stood at 53.40%.
The slight easing of inflation from January’s 42.12% to February’s 39.05% reflects efforts to stabilize price pressures, though economic challenges persist as policymakers continue to address cost-of-living concerns. (ILKHA)
